CIRCLE DESCRIPTION
This circle is designed for prod staff, artists, technologies and anyone else curious about how this part of AI is shaping how content gets made.Â
Led by a VFX Producer with real world experience integrating machine learning into workflows, this circle will demystify the tech, discuss actual use cases, and help you understand the possibilities and limitations of these emerging tools.Â
By the end of the circle you’ll:
- Gain a foundational understanding of machine learning concepts in VFX and animation
- Explore examples of how ML is being used in current pipelines and what that means for the teams these tools help support
- Engage in discussions designed to help you form a realistic view of and relationship to ML in specific and AI in generalÂ
- Touch on copyright and what to have in mind when dealing with data
This circle will help you stay informed and feel empowered to engage thoughtfully with the future of our industries.

Rachel Copp
Rachel Copp is a seasoned VFX executive with over 20 years’ experience delivering high-profile feature films, episodic television, and AAA game projects for global studios. Beginning her career as a CG artist, she brings a deep, end-to-end understanding of the production process and is highly regarded for her ability to bridge creative intent with technical execution.
Rachel has led complex, multi-genre productions from development through final delivery, overseeing creative workflows, schedules, vendors, and cross-functional teams across film, television, and interactive entertainment. Her experience includes senior leadership roles at Rising Sun Pictures, RocketWerkz, Amazon Studios, and STARZ.
Rachel is known for building strong production infrastructure, developing scalable systems, and integrating emerging technologies—including machine learning, USD-based workflows, virtual production, and cloud pipelines—to improve efficiency while maintaining creative excellence. A collaborative and people-focused leader, she places strong emphasis on mentorship, global collaboration, and inclusive team development, alongside active industry contribution through leadership roles with the Visual Effects Society and the New Zealand Game Developers Association. Her work has been recognized with multiple AACTA Award nominations for visual effects excellence.
