CIRCLE DESCRIPTION

If you are interested in stepping into production for 3D animation or VFX, this circle in workshop format is designed to give you a practical understanding of the production pipeline and the roles within it- from Production Assistant to Production Coordinator and Producer. You’ll explore the responsibilities and skills required for each role, who you collaborate with daily- from artists to supervisors- and the practices that help keep productions running smoothly.

This circle focuses on building the foundational skills needed to confidently step into and grow within Production Assistant and Production Coordinator roles. We’ll break down production workflows, from managing assets to organizing shots, discuss how to schedule them effectively, and cover what production does to ensure projects meet targets and client deadlines. As a bonus, there will be a brief overview of how AI is being incorporated into modern workflows, and how to work across both traditional and newer departments.

The workshop is interactive and collaborative. Bring your questions and challenges, and we’ll work through them together as a group. By the end, you’ll have a clearer understanding of the production process, the different roles involved, and practical strategies to navigate and contribute effectively within a studio environment.

Circle Leader

Eleyna Haroun

I have over a decade of experience in the film industry, beginning my career in documentary filmmaking at SOC Films under two-time Academy Award–winner Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy. During this time, I transitioned into producing 3D animated films, which sparked a deep interest in the intersection of technology, software, and digital art.

One of my earliest animation projects, Sitara, became the first Pakistani 3D animated short film to be released on Netflix- an important milestone for the country’s animation industry.

As Pakistan’s animation sector faced increasing economic and investment challenges, I expanded my career internationally, working at Monk Studios in Thailand before moving to London to join Framestore. There, I worked as a VFX Line Producer on major feature films including The Little Mermaid, Mickey 17, Flite, Wicked, How to Train Your Dragon, and Project Hail Mary, gaining extensive experience in large-scale, global productions.

Following my time at Framestore, I went on to work at Industrial Light & Magic (ILM), continuing to build on my expertise in high-end visual effects production and contributing to some of the most ambitious projects in the industry.
