Our Portfolio Review initiative is a direct response to our members’ top request for early-career support. These reviews help bridge the gap between emerging talent and the industry by connecting members with recruiters and hiring managers for live, virtual review sessions. Selected participants receive actionable feedback that strengthens their portfolios and helps them stand out in a competitive field. This initiative also supports a stronger talent pipeline and fuels our mission to support women and nonbinary professionals in animation, VFX, and gaming.
How It Works
- Creator-level and above members can apply to have their portfolios reviewed live during the sessions.
- Reviewers, who are experienced industry professionals, will choose 5 to 6 portfolios to review live during the event.
- WIA Maker-level members and above can register to attend the virtual review sessions, where professionals will give direct, actionable feedback on the selected portfolios.
- Audience members will have the opportunity to ask questions during the Q&A portion of the event, whether or not their portfolios are being reviewed.
- It’s structured, strategic, and designed to give participants a real competitive edge
How do I get my Portfolio Reviewed?
- You must be a Creator-level or above member.
- You must have a portfolio to review.
- Apply during the open application window of Jan. 20, 2026 to Jan. 27, 2026.
I didn’t get Chosen. Can I Still Attend the Live Review Session?
- Yes! Anyone with a Maker-level membership or above can be part of the session audience and Q&A.
- You can register for the session starting Jan. 13, 2026.
