Hayley Porter Joins WIA as Organization’s Executive Director

Today, we’re happy to announce the appointment of Hayley Porter as WIA Executive Director. 

Porter is a strategic executive and founder with more than 25 years of experience operating at a senior leadership level across the animation and entertainment industry. She advises executive teams, identifies business opportunities and strategic partnerships, and leads international marketing and PR campaigns.

Her career includes in-house and consulting experience in roles with world-renowned studios including Aardman, Locksmith Animation, Baobab Studios and Sunrise Productions, among many others. Porter was part of the campaign team for WAR IS OVER! Inspired by the Music of John & Yoko, which won the Academy® Award for Best Animated Short Film in 2024. 

As the organization’s first Executive Director, Porter will provide strategic leadership across WIA’s global programs and initiatives, working closely with the Board and Executive Committees to ensure strong governance and alignment. Having been part of WIA’s PR and Fundraising committee for almost a decade, she will now focus on expanding WIA’s international presence,  strengthening industry partnerships, driving membership growth, advancing fundraising efforts and deepening stakeholder engagement.

Porter’s appointment reinforces WIA’s dedication to building a more equitable future for creatives in the animation, gaming and VFX fields worldwide and to strengthen its infrastructure, create global partnerships, and ensure long-term sustainability as it positions itself for even greater industry impact.
