What do a jinn, a genius, an alien, and a family curse have in common? They are all at the heart of the extraordinary projects from our Stories x Women 2025 winning teams, and now they’re being celebrated on a global stage.
We are incredibly proud to share that Animation World Network (AWN) has published a fantastic feature article dedicated to our winners. The piece goes beyond the headlines, offering a glimpse into the creative minds and powerful narratives that define this year’s cohort. It’s a testament to the boundless creativity and emotional depth that these teams bring to the world of animation.
The five winning teams are:
- Better City – Brazil. A project led by Fernanda Bruna Capozzoli (with Sara Tenti)
- Condenaditos – Bolivia. A project led by Matisse Gonzalez Jordan
- Jinnbusters – India. A project led by Yusra Shahid
- Nerve – South Africa. A project led by Tshepo Moche (with Renee van Reenen)
- The Brains – Turkey. A project led by Idil Sukan
These talented creatives received a series of mentoring sessions led by internationally acclaimed animation experts, as well as 1:1 coaching sessions that prepared them to pitch their projects at this year’s Annecy International Animation Film Festival and Market (MIFA), as part of the MIFA Pitching Sessions.
